Frequently asked questions

Everything about your ferry transfer from UVF.

What is FunToSee Island Ferry?

We are St. Lucia's airport transfer by water ferry. We move guests between UVF Hewanorra International Airport and virtually every resort, hotel, villa and Airbnb on the island, by sea along the Caribbean coast instead of the long, winding mountain road.

How does an arrival work?

After you clear customs at UVF, an air-conditioned vehicle takes you on the short ride (about a 5-minute ride) to the ferry dock at Port Vieux Fort. Our crew welcomes you aboard and helps with your luggage. The ferry stops at the port closest to your accommodation, where a taxi is waiting to take you to your door.

How does a departure work?

The same in reverse. A taxi collects you from your accommodation and brings you to the ferry. The ferry returns to Port Vieux Fort and a taxi takes you to UVF. Your estimated pickup time is shown when you book and confirmed before you travel.

What is included in the fare?

Views, fresh air, lively music, beer, wine, champagne, soft drinks and snacks, plus the ground transportation to and from the boat and to and from your accommodation (both typically take about 5 to 7 minutes). Ti Kaye is the only extra charge: $20 per person by ground taxi or $37.50 per person by water taxi. Zoetry in Marigot Bay needs no taxi.

Which ports do you serve and how long is the taxi?

We stop at the four major ports, so we serve virtually all hotels and Airbnbs: Soufrière (about 45 minutes by ferry, about 10 minutes by taxi), Marigot Bay (about 80 minutes, most under 5 minutes by taxi), Pointe Seraphine in Castries (about 105 minutes, 5 to 10 minutes by taxi) and Rodney Bay Marina (about 120 minutes, 5 to 10 minutes by taxi). Ti Kaye is about 20 to 25 minutes by taxi and has the extra charge above. We only stop when we have scheduled pickups or drop-offs.

What are the seat classes and prices?

Cabin seats are $140, cabin booth seats are $150 and upper deck seats are $170, per person. Each class has its own limited seats on every sailing, so a class can sell out. All seats are protected from sun and rain. The upper deck is for ages 7 and up.

How do I pay?

You pay in advance by card through Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your card details. Hotels and DMCs are billed monthly and pay on island.

What is Fast Track and do I need it?

Fast Track is optional and costs $50 USD per person. A representative meets you between the plane and the terminal with a sign with your name, then takes you to the front of the Immigration line, to baggage, and to the front of the Customs line. We strongly recommend it if your flight lands less than 1½ hours before the ferry departs. With only carry-on luggage you can reach the ferry about 20 minutes after landing. You can add it even if you simply do not want to wait in line.

What if my flight arrives early?

Take the taxi to the ferry and drop your luggage, and one of our crew will escort you to a local oceanfront restaurant. We usually pick up the first $25 EC (about $10 USD) for each early-arrival guest.

What if my flight arrives late or I miss the ferry?

We leave buffer time for the occasional short delay, and we track your flight number automatically. If you still miss the ferry, Sandals guests may take the complimentary Sandals shuttle, and other guests have taxi options available 24/7. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable unless you buy our Delayed Flight / Missed Connection Insurance.

What is Delayed Flight / Missed Connection Insurance?

If you buy it at checkout, you can either transfer your reservation to your departure or receive a full refund of the ferry fares if your flight is delayed or you miss a connection. If you miss the ferry, Sandals guests are directed to the complimentary Sandals shuttle and other guests get a complimentary taxi. Without it, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, and the taxi for non-Sandals guests is at your own expense. It must be added at least 4 days before travel, and we recommend it whenever you fly.

I get seasick. Is the ferry right for me?

Our boat was selected for the most comfortable ride possible, and the catamaran hull reduces the side-to-side motion that contributes to seasickness. We do travel on the Caribbean Sea, so it can be choppy at times. For mild issues consider pills or patches (do not mix them with alcohol). If you are highly sensitive, other options may suit you better; the alternative is a long and winding road.

What about rain and weather?

It rains somewhere on St. Lucia most days, and every seat has protection from sun and rain. We operate in normal rain, and most guests feel safer on a boat than on the mountain roads. In the rare event we cancel for high winds or a named storm, we will try to provide alternative transportation.

Can I move around the boat?

Yes. The forward bow, the open area at the front, is open to everyone, weather permitting. The upper deck is reserved for guests who booked that seating and is for ages 7 and up.

Do I need to tip?

The fare is all-inclusive. Our crew greatly appreciates recognition for great service, but tips are 100% voluntary and never expected. The taxi drivers are independent partners that we pay, and they appreciate recognition too.

How do I check or change my booking?

Open My booking and sign in with the password you created at checkout, or use your booking reference and email. You can re-confirm your trip, add or remove passengers, change your date (subject to availability), add or remove Fast Track, and add insurance. We also email a reminder the afternoon before you travel.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Parties of 4 or fewer: cancel 30 or more days before travel for a refund less a 10% processing fee; 10 to 30 days before, 50% is withheld; under 10 days, no refund. Groups of 5 to 11: cancel 60 or more days before for a refund less a 10% fee; 30 to 60 days before, 50% is withheld; under 30 days, no refund. Groups of 12 or more: all group sales are final. The insurance is never refundable. If we cancel for weather or other reasons outside our control, we keep $50 per person and provide door-to-door ground transportation, refunding the balance. Changing your travel date costs $12.50 per person, subject to availability on the new date.

Do children and infants need a ticket?

Infants under 2 travel free on an adult's lap (no seat). Everyone with a seat pays the seat price. The upper deck is for ages 7 and up.
